A cavernous malformation is also known as a cerebral cavernous malformation or a cavernoma. Cavernous malformation are abnormally formed blood vessels in the brain but may also form in the spine.
Cavernous Malformation Symptoms
Symptoms include seizures, headache, hemorrhage or compression of surrounding brain tissue, called mass effect. Mass effect can cause weakness, numbness, double vision, visual disturbance or language difficulties.
